چکیده

A field experiment was conducted during the winter (rabi) season of 2020–21 at Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur, to study effect leaf-colour chart (LCC) and SPAD meter on productivity irrigated wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). The experiment, having 8 treatments, laid out in a randomized block design. first 4 treatments (T1 T4 ) were LCC-based, T5 T6 meter-based management practices T7 considered as fixed-time N (FTNM) T8 kept control where no applied. SPADbased received 140 kg N/ha which higher than all other resulted 13% ears/m2 18% grains/ear over LCC-based N-management treatments. Among practice, treatment recorded significantly highest grain yield (4.01 t/ha) but lower (10.4%) that achieved treatment. T1 T3 though dose fertilizer (19%; average compared FTNM (T7 ), returns maintained similar components with FTNM. Therefore, use farmers’ friendly cost-effective tool LCC is very useful saved (19%) without hampering components. Thus, may be effective for efficient need-based using improving crop growth rational manner.

The wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) leaf proteome.

The wheat leaf proteome was mapped and partially characterized to function as a comparative template for future wheat research. In total, 404 proteins were visualized, and 277 of these were selected for analysis based on reproducibility and relative quantity. Using a combination of protein and expressed sequence tag database searching, 142 proteins were putatively identified with an identificat...

Optimal Leaf Positions for SPAD Meter Measurement in Rice

The Soil Plant Analysis Development (SPAD) chlorophyll meter is one of the most commonly used diagnostic tools to measure crop nitrogen status. However, the measurement method of the meter could significantly affect the accuracy of the final estimation. Thus, this research was undertaken to develop a new methodology to optimize SPAD meter measurements in rice (Oryza sativa L.). A flatbed color ...

Readily available phosphorous and nitrogen counteract for arsenic uptake and distribution in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

Elevated arsenic content in food crops pose a serious human health risk. Apart from rice wheat being another main food crop is possibly cultivated on contaminated sites. But for wheat uptake mechanisms are not entirely understood especially with regard to nutrient fertilization and different moisture regimes taking into account heavy rainfall events due to climate change. Here we show that espe...

New isoforms and assembly of glutamine synthetase in the leaf of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

Glutamine synthetase (GS; EC 6.3.1.2) plays a crucial role in the assimilation and re-assimilation of ammonia derived from a wide variety of metabolic processes during plant growth and development. Here, three developmentally regulated isoforms of GS holoenzyme in the leaf of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) seedlings are described using native-PAGE with a transferase activity assay. The isoforms s...

Intervarietal Differences in Nitrogen Content and Nitrate Assimilation in Wheat (triticum Aestivum L.) under Salt Stress

Effect of five NaCl salinity treatments (0, 50, 100, 200 and 300 mM) given at different growth and developmental stages on total N level and in vitro nitrate reductase activity (NRA) in leaves and roots of two wheat cultivars viz., Ghods and Boolani was studied in greenhouse conditions. In response to salinity treatments, total N concentrations and NO3 assimilation rates in Ghods, a saltsensiti...
